Arrival to Beijing

 

There is about 160 km from Beijing Capital Airport to Tianjin and it takes about 2 hours by car if the traffic around Beijing is not too big. We will go directly to the hospital, hotel or apartment.

If you live in the hospital or the apartment, we can provide food and drink so it will be ready when you arrive.

 

 

First evening in Tianjin

 

After arrival it possible to have a few-hour rest and then we would like to invite you to dinner in one of Tianjin’s many restaurants.

 

 

Cell phone

 

We deliver cell phones for patients and their relatives. The phone has a Chinese number and the phone works only in Tianjin. It is possible to make a call to this phone from outside, but it is not possible to call outside China.

Guide book

 

We have made a small book, where all the necessary addresses and words are in English and Chinese, so it’s easy to take a taxi, go to a restaurant, order food, fork and knife, go to the bank, to a shopping center, and of course – to Tianjin Cancer Hospital.

 

 

Hospital

 

We will meet at 7 am the first day in the hospital– the day will normally start with a consultation with the doctors, examinations in the form of blood test, x-ray and heart diagram, CT / MR / PET-CT scanning. When the doctors have all the results, they will make a plan for the treatment.

 

We will be in the hospital every day during the stay, talk with the doctors, translate between patients and doctors. If there is some change in the treatment plan, the doctor will call us immediately arranging for a meeting.

 

 

Hospital account

 

Before the patient enters the hospital we will provide all the paperwork and open a hospital account, and transfer some payment in advance into the account.

Every time you pay money into the account you will get a receipt for your payment.

                  

 

Payment

 

All payment has to be made in cash, it is not possible to pay by credit card or transfer money directly to the hospital.

 

Every day you will get a bill, so you can see how much money the treatment cost for the day before.

Before the money on your account runs low, the nurse will come and say it is time to transfer more cash into the account. The hospital does not give any credit, so if the account runs out of money, the treatment will stop.

 

 

Medicine

 

If there is some kind of medicine that is not possible to get via the hospital account, it has to be bought in cash. It can be e.g. Gene p53 (Gendicine).

 

 

Care during the stay

 

You have to bring all the necessary things by yourself to the hospital.

In China it is normal that the relatives take care of the patients: they provide food, drink and so on, the hospital does not have any employees to take care of this.

 

  

Registration

 

Everybody has to make a registration at the local police station within 24 hours after the arrival to China.  We will take care of this registration for you, we just need your passports and passport pictures for everyone.
