Gene - p53 For the gene therapy to work, it has to be combined with other forms of treatments to give
the best results.
A treatment with genes alone in most cases gives no effect.
In the treatment of cancer genes (Gendicine) it is a prerequisite to have this gene mutation for the
treatment to take effect.
A large proportion of the population has this gene
mutation and by treatment with Gendicine the
body itself shows that the gene mutation has
already occurred.
You can receive a maximum 8 doses of genes, ie. 4 treatments of 2 doses at each treatment.
The first time the treatment is given, a small operation is performed; for example. in the groin, where through an artery a pipe will be placed directly to the tumor and the Gendicine will be sprayed into the tumour. During the entire process the patient is fully conscious and the surgery is absolutely painless. There are no side effects of treatment with genes, except that your body will react with higher temperature and you may have a nausea-like feeling. This is completely normal and this is the body's way of showing that the genes give the desired effect. If you are in the situation that one has been diagnosed with cancer spread to other organs, the treatment with genes can still be given directly to the tumor and the genes will even find their way to the metastases, either through veins or lymphatic system . It is the "natural" way to treat this as metastases come from the tumor and the genes will work in the same way.
