Chemo therapy

A treatment with chemo can be given in several different ways as well as in combination with other treatments, eg. gene treatment.
 
In Tianjin Cancer Hospital they have good results in providing a chemotherapy locally.
This means that during a small operation in the groin a tube will placed into an artery and it will go directly to the tumor and then the chemo will be injected through the syringe.
 
Before the chemo is injected into the tumor, it is heated up to approx. 43 degrees Celsius.
 
This makes the cancer cells struggle to survive. Cancer cells are very sensitive to temperature and by heating the chemo there is a greater chance to attack and eliminate cancer cells.
 
Chemotherapy can also be given through a drip in the vein or in the form of pills.
