Background We came into this sad and incomprehensible world of cancer treatment at a very rapid way in August 2007.
On TV2 news there was a feature on treating cancer in China. The spots showed an English woman who was abandoned by the English health system. She went to China and was helped with cancer treatment and now she can live on her own. One of my parents' best friends was diagnosed with incurable cancer of the pancreas in May 2007. The Danish health system could only offer him treatment with chemotherapy. It could help him to keep the cancer in on hold as long as his body could endure chemo treatment. He was informed that he had maximum one year left to live or perhaps less and no future prospect of anything else than down the hill. After the feature on TV2 things changed quickly. I am married to and I live with Jill, who is Chinese. On the Internet she found information on the drug company that developed the gene medicine and she contacted them. She asked where we could get the best expertise in this type of cancer and we were referred to the University Tianjin Cancer Hospital and Professor Guo. Prof. Guo is the Chief Doctor of the Interventional department at Tianjin Cancer Hospital, and has vast knowledge and long experience of treating cancer patients. Jill contacted Prof. Guo and arranged a meeting during which we got answers to many questions which related to the treatment of the cancer of the pancreas. On 20 September 2007 Jette & Mogens arrived in China and when we saw how Mogens’ condition improved within next 8 weeks of his treatment, we decided that if we could help Mogens, we can also help others who are in a similar situation.
